You know the excitement you feel when you’re preparing to go on vacation and the location just happens to be somewhere you have never been? Maybe even a place you’ve dreamed of going for years. I love that feeling! You know how when you will be gone for a week or two and you have so many details to iron out, like what to do with the dogs or putting a hold on the mail, getting someone to water the plants, making sure you don’t leave food that will rot in the fridge, etc. The list of details can go on and on, but if you keep the goal in sight and remind yourself of the why, you can get through it. Then, you are there and you can start to wind down and relax. You begin to really enjoy your family and the thrill of being in that exotic location. The stress of all the preparation stuff just rolls off and you are free – – – – – then you’re packing it all up again to go back home. (Sigh)
Today, I am publishing my very first blog post. You get to be here to witness a little bit of my history in the making. Getting this up and running has not been easy. The technical stuff has almost overwhelmed me at times because every piece of this was like a foreign language to me, but…I have been dreaming about getting here and reminding myself of the why and hoping like everything that it would go well and you would come and we could begin a friendship here in this warm comfy place and there would be no looking back. Then once here, the stress would roll off of me and I would begin to enjoy my new friends and the thrill of being here in this exotic location and that free vacation feeling would start flowing and no one needs to pack it all up and go back.
Well, I’ll let you know when that happens. 😉 In the meantime, I realized that if I wait until things are perfect and I’ve learned it all, I may never get this thing started. So I’ve decided to put the why right up front in my priorities. It makes such a difference when I get a clear picture of why I’m doing what I do because that’s where the passion comes from that motivates me to excel. Oh…..right, I haven’t told you about the why yet! Drumroll please. . . . . YOU are my why! I want to connect with you and be inspired by you and maybe even do a little inspiring of my own. I’m looking forward to sharing ideas, recipes, projects, hopes, dreams and anything that draws us in with irresistible charm. God has been moving me in this direction in an almost imperceptible way. I can look back and see it now, but could not have pegged it along the way if I tried. Isn’t that just how God works? So I’m going with it!
You see, I look at this as a journey, one without a final destination because the journey is the destination and my dream is to savor every moment of it with you.
Think about the why that keeps you going. I’d love to hear about it!
See you next time!
